Changes to the RTP Supplier Charge RateDecember 31, 2015
There has been a change to how one of the line items on your bill is calculated. In the past, your individual RTP Supplier Charge was calculated based on the current charge rate and your total kWh electricity use during the billing period. Now, during the non-summer months starting January 2016, the RTP supplier charge rate will only be applied to the first 800 kWh of electricity you use during a billing period.
From January 1, 2016 through May 31, 2016, the RTP supplier charge rate will be applied as follows:
- 0-800 kWh: 2.283 cents/kWh
- > 800 kWh: 0.00 cents/kWh
The RTP Supplier Charge covers the costs of the additional supply services required for providing electricity. On BGS-1 bills, this charge is factored into the Energy Supply Charge, so the effect on PSP savings should be minimal.
Note that the hourly pricing information provided to PSP participants includes BOTH the hourly electricity price and the RTP Supplier Charge rate. We believe this allows participants to better understand their costs on the program and how the hourly rate compares to the Ameren Illinois default supply rate (BGS-1).
