Information for Electric Heat Customers

Ameren Illinois utilities have received approval from the Illinois Commerce Commission to implement a rate redesign of electric rates to more evenly distribute rate increases that took effect in January 2007. The revised rates are intended to help soften the impact experienced by many electric space heating customers. In particular, residential customers who previously received electric space heat discounts should carefully review the modified rate structure as charges have been reduced. The Space Heat category applies only to existing premises served under AmerenCIPS Rider 5 or AmerenIP’s space heat provision under SC2 as of Jan. 1, 2007. This Space Heat category is not available for new electric heat installations.
